The circular course follows the Staple Fitzpaine Herepath Trail which is a bridleway created as part of the Neroche Scheme. A section of the trail has been closed and to compensate for this two additional loops have been added to the route at Staple Hill. There are several short road sections.
The course will be well signed and marshalled where the route is not entirely obvious and also at road crossings. There is one particularly busy road to cross and it is important for your safety that marshals’ instructions are followed. Water stations will be positioned at 4, 6.5 and 11 miles.
Entrants should note that this is a relatively tough course with a variety of terrain, including some muddy sections. Trail shoes are recommended. There is a total of 1,450 feet of ascent. Click here for a map of the route and here for the Garmin course.
The trail has not been closed to other users during the event and care must be taken if walkers, cyclists or horse-riders are encountered. In particular you should slow to a walk when passing horses.
We are afraid that you will be unable to run with a dog due to UKA rules.
