Running Forever Running Club currently meets four times a week. Regrettably for legal reasons we are unable to accept anyone under the age of 18 on any of our runs and reserve the right to challenge anyone who appears under the age of 18 to provide proof of age.
We use the RunTogether booking system for all sessions. This allows members to see the meeting place for each run, as well as helping us fulfil safety requirements. All our sessions are open to club members – you can join here
Monday 6.30pm – Coached session – led by a qualified England Athletics coach, these sessions are designed to help you become a better runner, whether you are looking to be faster or stronger or would just like to improve your technique. Alternating track sessions with hill/road sessions on a weekly basis, the format will range from long and short intervals to the more technical aspect of running where the coach will look at your form and give advice on how you can improve your running. Regular speed sessions have resulted in personal bests at all distances and the sessions are adapted for a full range of abilities and everyone is welcome! These sessions will sometimes form part of a training plan geared towards a local race but they can be attended as a stand-alone session. This is a members-only session, which lasts for approximately an hour, including a full warm-up and cool-down. Twice a month the coached sessions are based at the track, which has a charge of £3.

Tuesday 6.30pm – Tuesday evenings are Trail Run Tuesdays. Runs are typically between 4.5 and 6.5 miles, mostly off road, but with occasional road sections on quiet lanes. There are generally two groups available, split by pace and accessible to all who can run the distance. From September through to March, a headtorch and hi-vis clothing will be required to take part in these runs.
Wednesday 6.30pm – Our main club night is the Wednesday evening Social Run. Runners split into ten groups, based on pace (full details on our Groups page) and run various routes around Taunton and the surrounding area, with all the groups aiming to run for an hour. There is also a run/walk group, which has no minimum pace requirement and a walking group for those who are unable to run or just prefer a social walk. In the winter we stick to the town, but please wear hi-vis clothing. In the summer we meet at various locations around Taunton, to allow our groups to explore the country lanes out of town.
Saturday/Sunday – We have various options on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings, when a lot of club members like to get a longer run in. The groups available vary each week, but often include a longer trail run and something to suit a variety of pace bands.
